Summary: Slimey stipe?

Comment: Looks like either Hygrocybe conica (moist/lubricous stipe) or H. singeri (seriously slimey/viscid stipe). From the photo I’d guess H. singeri which is the more common species in California. I’d be interested to know if the basidia are 2- or 4-spored. It is probably 4-spored, but H. conica of Europe is generally 2-spored and I have found 2-spored specimens growing in lawns in California.
