Comment on Hygrophorus subalpinus A.H. Sm. (8054)

Summary: Are these a common edible for you?

Comment: Do you normally eat these? I think pretty much all the Hygrophorus are edible, is that true? But they don’t seem to be commonly eaten by anyone. We tried a little of this one recently, and it didn’t have much of a taste itself I think, but it picked up flavors well, and developed a nice crispy crust, over a creamy center when roasted over the fire. But it was only a taste to try, so I was wondering how commonly is this one eaten. Or other Hygrophorus?
