Observation: Albatrellus avellaneus (9709)

When: 2003-11-03
Collection location: Tillamook Co., Oregon, USA [Click for map]
Who: Daniel B. Wheeler (Tuberale)
No herbarium specimen

Notes: Collected/photographed during the 2003 OMS Fall Forage at Camp McGruder, Tillamook Co., OR. Because of the rarity of this fungus, I will not divulge exactly where it was found. However, during the forage, several people brought this mushroom in from several locations within Tillamook County. So there is some question whether it is rare or merely rarely reported.
