Summary: Speak of chilling…
Even though you know what you’re doing, other people reading these notes and comments might not. It’s always a good idea for someone as inoffensive as Debbie to point out the danger in eating Amanitas!

Summary: CHILL OUT EVERYBODY IM NOT AN IDIOT
I know what species this is, this is directly from my jacksonii patch like i said i KNOW WHAT IM DOING CHILL OUT ITS OFFENSIVE. Like i said before the yellow color of the stipe did not show up well in the pic, but was there. Also the ring was on the ground since it had just rained, THIS IS FROM MY PATCH I PICK IN ALL THE TIME CHILL OUT ITS VERY VERY ANNOYING. There was a volva to but i couldnt get it up, didnt need to since I KNOW WHAT SPECIES THIS IS. I would never eat a mushroom without knowing for sure what it is. Ive been doing this for ten years cut me sum slack.

Summary: Ouch! Questionable ID on an amanita, and YOU ATE IT??!
Duuuude. We would like you to be around for a while; you post pretty pictures.
One cannot conjecture absence of a feature as the feature itself! That mushroom did look exannulate. Did the annulus come off in your hand, or was it gone from the get-go? Questionable amanitas can help you to sharpen species concepts, but should NEVER be eaten! It’s too damn easy to make a mistake. And you never know when our color-morphing, deadly friend Amanita phalloides might be coming to YOUR town and forest….

Summary: Thanks for the added information…
I still have concern over the lack of orange decoration on the stipe. It might be an undescribed taxon in the Caesareae.

Summary: No ring, no stipe decoration, … Volval sac?
Given the lack of a ring and the lack of stipe decoration, this might be Amanita parcivolvata. Was their a sac at the stipe base?
