Notes: On ground by trails, generally solitary. Convex dry buff cap, very weak ring, rhizoids generally present. Spore print rich brown.

I’ve been alternately convinced this is Agrocybe dura and A. praecox. I’ve dutifully chewed a piece of each, and oh-so-carefully squeezed the cap of each, but to no obvious avail. I’m going with the more common of the two until someone manages to teach me the difference.
