Notes: Collection # DD 638 Growing on the roots of a Redwood stump that I planted 15 years ago. the tree was cut down two years ago and the stump excavated from the ground and left on top.
ID could be wrong since it is not known from the coastal zone, found above 2,000 feet in the Sierras.
Might be a Gymnopus.

Macroscopically sure looks more like a Gymnopus than a Marasmius, but I can’t find any online pictures of M. applanatipes. I’ll have to look at AoC when I get home tonight. Seems like Dennis would be interested in the collection.
