Notes: Ok, I saw these and thought, ah B. calopus. I tasted these and thought, ah, B. calopus. They were bitter and disgusting. But I showed them to Dr. Desjardins, and he said, these were not calopus, there was not enough yellow tones in the cap. I don’t know, that seems a little thin to me.

But in discussion with Dimitar about these, it turns out they are probably B. coniferarum, which is a similar species that is more common up in Oregon. And then he goes on to say that B. calopus is an european species, and probably doesn’t appear here, and we have B. calopus var. fructosus. In any case, this is probably more than I wanted to know about calopus at this point.
