Observation: Lactarius sp. Pers. (4086)

When: 2007-09-07
Collection location: Lake Crescent, Olympic Peninsula, Clallam Co., Washington, USA [Click for map]
Who: Douglas Smith (douglas)
No herbarium specimen

Species Lists:
Species of the Olympic Peninsula (33)

Notes: These sure look like L. rubidus, but I thought that was a Cali. only species. Also after three days, and getting kinda dry, they hadn’t developed the distinctive smell. They don’t quite look like L. rufulus, but they might be that. So, just put these under, yet another brown, small Lactarius with a non-viscid cap, and white latex.
