Notes: Unidentified – Not a whole lot to go on. Attractive, small,very viscous,resinous consistency. Odor – non distinctive. Fruiting on decomposed wood. 3 cm tall. cap 1 cm wide. Attempting spore print. Gills attached, close, white.

Summary: Agree Cortinarius, disagree C. collinitus

Assuming it has the right spore color, Cortinarius seems very likely.


However, a primary characteristic of C. collinitus (and that general ’group’) are bands of material on the stipe. See:

With some help from a friend, we have decided that this may well be Cortinarius sp. Possibly Cortinarius collinitus.
