Herbarium specimen available
Species Lists:
Sanctuary Forest - November 2006 (17)
Notes: Found growing in a meadow a surprising distance from the nearest tree which was a tall Douglas fir. I verified that the spores are not truncate to eliminate X. truncatus as a possible id.
Location:
N 40d 00m
W 123d 55m
Elevation 1000’-1100’
The specimen was collected as part of a class I taught for the Sanctuary Forest. Overall it was very poor collecting in the Briceland area this year. I believe the reason was an early cold snap which shutdown most of the mycorhizal species. This list are species that were actually found in the Sanctuary Forest. There is a separate list for specimens that were brought to the class for identification.
